Colored Channel | Orange Is The New Black
Photography by, Victor Jolley
At the beginning of the year, one of my personal style resolutions for the spring/summer was to experiment with more colors and it still stands. What better way to start off than going all out with the brightest piece in my closet; the orange corduroy pants. Spring is the season of color, why not?
Typically, I do not see a lot of men wear orange or bright colored pants in general, and I understand it because most men prefer a minimalistic and neutral sense of style. This observation contributed to the reason I challenged myself to styling the orange corduroy pants as seen above. As most know, I am not one to entertain a series of colors so, for this look, I was determined to style it in a way that would make me look less pumpkin-ish. I wanted to go for a look that was fun, effervescent and, not to dressy. The key to doing this was making the orange piece the focus point of the ensemble while matching it with complimentary colors.
Being familiar with color palettes, I am aware that blacks, browns, blues and whites can be integrated into any outfit because they go with any and everything. So, to neutralize the outfit, I decided to incorporate tints of those colors to accent and balance out the bold orange. Trust me, orange is very easy to incorporate into your wardrobe.
What do you think of the orange pants? How do you think I did with the way I styled the whole ensemble? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
