Switzerland's Baselworld isn't exactly what I'd call an ordinary show. It is unmistakably the residence of fine jewelry, and wrist watches from all parts of the world - an event that extends itself to brand new products labels are excited to introduce to the market. Who's attending? Jewelry, and timepiece enthusiasts with titles ranging all across the board - from writers, to watchmakers, to investors, Baselworld paints a picture of an integrated consumer culture.
Of all the participating brands at the fair, I press you to keep the Swiss family owned, Carl F. Bucherer on your radar - that is, if you are a wrist watch aficionado who's looking for a wide variety of timepiece collections that look like they belong in a museum dedicated to archival, perceptive, and aesthetically satisfying collectibles that are rightfully untouchable. As the Carl F. Bucherer brand expand their collection with the strong aesthetic, and characteristically superior crafting approach they're known for, they're assessing first rate elements that'll help differentiate them from other luxury wrist watch brands.
For the brand's 130th anniversary at Baselworld, they introduced a four year in the making unique design that highlights the brand's influence as pacesetters in the peripheral movement - an in house made Manero double Peripheral Tourbillon.
Presenting a hand-stitched Louisiana alligator leather strap in dark brown, a silver colored dial with rose gold plated indices, and an 18K pink gold case that is also 30m water resistant, the tourbillon showcases a signature perspective for the brand that merges timeless design, and pioneering mechanics. Featuring Carl F. Bucherer's very own T3000 in house Caliber, the third developed by the brand, the Manero double Peripheral Tourbillon merges a peripheral automatic winding system, and a peripherally scaled tourbillon that is shown to float inside the timepiece. The design aesthetic that allows a tourbillon to spin around its own center line exhibits the kind of pristine handiwork the Carl F. Bucherer brand is known for.
Without a doubt, The Manero Peripheral Tourbillon is a leading-edge piece that will remain dignified with an appearance that is first rate.
